Heat stress caused by heat is the condition where both the physiological system as the psychological system are affected by the ambient temperature where it is, when this temperature is in extreme levels and can cause effects such as hyperthermia, dizziness, dehydration, headache, among others. The objective of this research was to evaluate the existence of thermal stress in a textile laundry. Two commonalities were employed to analyze the thermal stress, ISO 7243 (1989) NR 15 (2012), which presents the methodology of the Index Wet Bulb Globe Thermometer (WBGT). After collecting environmental and personal data analyzes were performed by comparing the data with the standards where it was found the existence of heat stress in some sectors and so it was suggested improvements in accordance with the standards listed above. Then adjustments have been proposed for improving the quality of working life laundry and consequent increase employee productivity.
