Heat stress caused by heat is the condition where both the physiological system as the psychological system are affected by the ambient temperature where it is, when this temperature is in extreme levels and can cause effects such as hyperthermia, dizziness, dehydration, headache, among others. The objective of this research was to evaluate the existence of thermal stress in a textile laundry. Two commonalities were employed to analyze the thermal stress, ISO 7243 (1989) NR 15 (2012), which presents the methodology of the Index Wet Bulb Globe Thermometer (WBGT). After collecting environmental and personal data analyzes were performed by comparing the data with the standards where it was found the existence of heat stress in some sectors and so it was suggested improvements in accordance with the standards listed above. Then adjustments have been proposed for improving the quality of working life laundry and consequent increase employee productivity. A questão ergonômica de conforto térmico visa à satisfação das pessoas quanto às condições de temperatura dos ambientes em que se encontram inseridas. O estresse térmico, causado por calor, é a condição onde tanto o sistema fisiológico quanto o sistema psicológico são afetados pela temperatura do ambiente em que se encontra, quando esta temperatura encontra-se em níveis extremos e pode causar efeitos como: hipertermia, tontura, desidratação, dor de cabeça, entre outros. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi avaliar a existência de estresse térmico em uma lavanderia têxtil. Foram empregadas duas normalizações para analisar o estresse térmico, a ISO 7243 (1989) NR 15 (2012), a qual apresenta a metodologia do Índice de Bulbo Úmido Termômetro de Globo (IBUTG). Após a coleta de dados ambientais e pessoais foram realizadas análises, comparando os dados com as normas onde foi constatado a existência de estresse térmico em alguns setores e assim foi sugerido melhorias de acordo com as normas citadas acima.
