This paper aims to compare conventional mortars to industrialized ones and analyze the performance of each according to the results of laboratory tests. CP-II – Z Portland cement, hydrated lime, and fine aggregate were used with an 1: 1: 6 ratio for the conventional mortar, while for the industrialized mortar, Portland cement, quartz sand and additives were used instead. With mortars in their fresh state, it was possible to determine consistency rate by running three repetitions for each mortar type. For mortars in their hardened state, compression strength and capillary water absorption tests were conducted using four test specimens for each mortar in each test, totaling twenty-two test specimens. The results showed that the industrialized mortar had better results in the compression and consistency tests, but conventional mortar was more efficient when it comes to capillary water absorption test. |
