Resumo: The constant landslides of embankments and the consequences of it, contributed to the intensification the study of the cause of instability and contention methods and/or reinforcement over the years. In Brazil, a great amount of the cases occurs in road embankment, which results in many damages to both users and society. The objective of this work is to analyze the possible solutions to the instability case of a road embankment, located at the city of Queluz, São Paulo State. The instability analysis were done using the Software Slide, before and after the simulation of reinforcement and change of soil, according to the consecrated methods proposed by Fellenius, Bishop and Spencer. To make the analysis, and by consequence obtain the safety factors, the water level and the overload parameters were changed. After all verifications it was found that the soil change is the most advised option technic to the case, because it presents more efficiency due to the highest values of the safety factors generated.
