Resumo: This work presents the development of an Inertial Measurement Unit to determine the orientation of a quadcopter, consisting of an accelerometer and a gyroscope. Through the signals of these sensors and a computer program, the orientation of the aircraft is provided. The signals processing of the sensors are performed by the ARM Microcontroller Family that returns the rotation angles of the aircraft, pitch and roll. Signal conditioning methodologies were tested to minimize the effects of noise in the system, the Complementary Filter and the Kalman Filter. Experimental tests to validate the Inertial Measurement Unit were performed to verify the accuracy of it.
