Resumo: In this work, it is proposed the study of level control techniques applied to a tank system. The plant consists of two glass tanks, a DC pump and an ultrasonic sensor. Arduino Microcontrollers were used for the communication Plant/Simulink in order to monitor the signal referring to the level, as well as to transmit the control actions to be executed. Two different control techniques were applied in a Simulink environment, one based on a predictive control and the other on a classical control (PID) for comparison purposes. The present work aims at the mathematical modeling of the system to be controlled, through the application of identification methods, as well as the use of control techniques. Therefore, an analysis of the results obtained for each technique applied for the purpose of performance comparison is presented. Although the proposed methodologies were effective, more tests can be performed to optimize the control process.
