This monograph consists of making the analysis a coating applied by welding cored wire process with shielding gas in flat position using a conventional source of current. The base metal used was the SAE 1020 steel, and as filler metal was used cored wire with diameter 1.2 mm of martensitic stainless steel 410 (CA6MN). For the experimental design and selection of the quantity of tests was applicated the Taguchi method, since the variables of influences represented by the average current, the distance between the tip contact piece and the welding speed. The signals of current and voltage were captured simultaneously to the welding process by a board of purchase. As the results of study of these values, it was obtained the economic characteristics and arc stability for each test. For the analysis of the final values found in the process was applied the Variance Analysis to each variable and also the combined effect between them. Thus, it was possible to prove that the Taguchi method is effective to minimize the quantity of tests. In the greatest current was obtained the best performance of the economic features proven by parameters such as the melting rate, deposition rate and yield. The welding speed was the most influential factor in the processing yield. Still from programming in Matlab® software it was possible to work with the current values and collected tension and verify the conditions of better stability of the arc. The calculations were based on ease of metal transfer, standard deviation and variance of the voltage peaks in a time interval. |
