The present study aims to serve as a theoretical reference to later develop the architectural project of a Child and Adolescent Cancer Center to attend the children and adolescents undergoing cancer treatment at Erastinho Hospital. The proposal came from the verification of the lack of a space that serves as support for patients leaving their city of residence to perform the treatment in Curitiba, in order to propose a space that contributes to the improvement of patients' quality of life and their companions during this difficult phase of their lives. Therefore, the present research addresses the concept of Casa de Apoio, its importance, characteristics and principles, in order to provide the necessary basis for the development of the work. Some correlated studies are also analyzed, which reveal different proposals and establish adequate repertoire for the subsequent project. Finally, after collecting data and information about the Erasto Gaertner Hospital and its surroundings, it is possible to determine the ground for the installation of the Child and Infant Cancer Center, as well as the guidelines that must be fulfilled for the development of the project. |
