Resumo: This monograph has the purpose of projecting an interactive furniture line for children with the purpose of helping to develop the cognitive and logic abilities, while playing a stimulant, playful and creative role in the child’s development. This furniture has as concept the act of playing – the child may interact in a playful and efficient manner with the furniture, being able to have new experiences and to build his/her knowledge. The project was based upon construction toys, because their features help to create ways and methods that are favorable to the interaction child-furniture. Also, the project is centered in the emotional design concepts, highlighting principles that allowed the product to provoke emotions and to stimulate the child’s cognitive ability. This monograph presents a literature review based upon theories that helped in the comprehension of the childhood universe and in its possibilities. Ergonomical studies, anthropometric measurements and studies of colors, shapes and materials were also performed, aiming to create the furniture with a formal configuration adjusted to children. Market and user research have helped in the elaboration of the product concepts and features, such as shape, texture, material, colors and other characteristics that have given the product the necessary compliance so that it could fulfill its objective As a result, an interactive furniture line centered in the three levels of emotional design is obtained, fulfilling the desired goal of offering the possibility of develop abilities through the interaction with the child.
