The present theoretical and practical work has as main objective the study of the hybrid image in graphic design. Investigating and reflecting upon the hybridization of creating design process, as well as the hybridization on the design itself. The author makes bibliographical research from fundamental concept of design and hybrid image, through the multiple possibility of relationships between surface design and graphic design, and also through contemporary definitions and productions in surface design. Following are shown more topics considered of importance to the construction of the theoretical basis are presented, they are: relevant elements to the design and considerations for hybrid and synesthesia, in order to provide support for the discussion concerning the hybrid image and surface design. In order to assist the practical experimentation has reference to the study of some works of the designer Stefan Sagmeister, which can be identified as belonging to a hybrid surface design. Finally, the subject is explored in practice trial, complementing what was previously seen and translating the concepts into the visual language. |
