Resumo: The civil construction industry is a sector with a high turnover index, therefore trying to keep knowledge inside of the companies becomes a big challenge. To fix that, Knowledge Management systems are used to retain and spread knowledge and skills that are often found in a small group of people. A very common tool from Knowledge Management, is the Lessons Learned Methodology, which is composed by a system of registration, documentation and graduation of the performed activities on the projects executed by the organization. The general objective of this research was to diagnose the gaps and opportunities of the implementation of the Lessons Learned Methodology on civil construction companies. To pursue that, a questionnaire was made to evaluate the main pillars needed to achieve success on that methodology. It’s noted that the tools used to collect and archive experiences within the organizations, in a general matter, already exist. Although, the correct use of the Lessons Learned Methodology requires the use of the four analyzed pillars, being extremely hard to implement this methodology if the company’s organizational culture is not promoted inside it.
