Resumo: This thesis presents a propose for the development of a methodology of calibration of gyroscope using a stand for gyroscope calibration developed at Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná, campus Curitiba. It is focused on the operation of sensors of type gyroscope and the type of errors involved in the measurements, as well as what needs evaluation in order to get reliable results. The methodology is developed from de analysis geodesic for the correct positioning of the stand and the sensor relative to the planet, once the rotation speed of the planet interferes in measurements of velocity and angular displacement. Experiments to determine de possible errors of measurement are presented and executed. The data’s obtained are analyzed with help of software and mathematic tools in order to verify the methodology proposed. The results are values of measurement uncertainty, which are directly compared with data provided by the manufacturer of the sensor to evaluate de reliability of the method of calibration developed. Finally it suggests current methods to calibration according to obtained data.
