This present paper presents the development of a face recognition system with PID illumination control of three LED lamps. This system is composed of a camera, an illumination control module using a microcontroller and LED lamps, a face detection module and a face recognition through neural networks module, the last two implemented using the MATLAB software. This paper seeks to measure the influences of different illumination magnitudes and angles on face recognition through tests taken under distinct conditions. Within this paper illumination techniques, face detection and face recognition algorithms are analyzed in a way to choose the best technologies to allow the system to fulfill its predetermined goals. The system’s architecture is presented with the following resources: LED lamps, Arduino microcontroller, C3 Tech Webcam and MATLAB software. |
