Resumo: |
Many measures are taken by the federal and state governments in relation to Brazilian education in several ways. Certain actions are focused specifically on the teaching of languages, these are then called linguistic policies. Among them are the documents and programs that governments launch to formalize and stimulate education. This way, this research intends to analyze the linguistic policies related to the English language in Brazil. In order to do this, we first investigated the advance of the English language as a lingua franca and the importance of its teaching. Some official documents were analysed, such as Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação, as Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais, Parâmetros Curriculares de Língua Estrangeira, Parâmetros Curriculares do Ensino Médio, Orientações Curriculares do Ensino Médio, LEI Nº13415, 2017 and Diretrizes Curriculares do Estado do Paraná. Besides these documents, programs such as Programa Nacional do Livro Didático (PNLD) and Idiomas sem Fronteiras (IsF) were also investigated. The influence and importance of English in the processes of internationalization of Brazilian universities were also analysed. With this, it was shown how important these measures are for Brazilian education and that should not be left aside by educational institutions. |
