Certain actions are focused specifically on the teaching of languages, these are then called linguistic policies. Among them are the documents and programs that governments launch to formalize and stimulate education. This way, this research intends to analyze the linguistic policies related to the English language in Brazil. In order to do this, we first investigated the advance of the English language as a lingua franca and the importance of its teaching. Some official documents were analysed, such as Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação, as Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais, Parâmetros Curriculares de Língua Estrangeira, Parâmetros Curriculares do Ensino Médio, Orientações Curriculares do Ensino Médio, LEI Nº13415, 2017 and Diretrizes Curriculares do Estado do Paraná. Besides these documents, programs such as Programa Nacional do Livro Didático (PNLD) and Idiomas sem Fronteiras (IsF) were also investigated. The influence and importance of English in the processes of internationalization of Brazilian universities were also analysed. With this, it was shown how important these measures are for Brazilian education and that should not be left aside by educational institutions. Muitas medidas são tomadas pelos governos federal e estadual em relação à educação brasileira de diversas formas. Determinadas ações são voltadas especificamente para o ensino de línguas, e estas então são chamadas de políticas linguísticas. Entre elas estão os documentos e os programas que os governos lançam para oficializar e estimular o ensino. Desta forma, pretende-se nesta pesquisa analisar as políticas linguísticas relacionadas à língua inglesa no Brasil. Para isso, foi pesquisado, primeiramente, o avanço da língua inglesa como língua franca e a importância de seu ensino. Também foram analisados documentos como: a Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação, as Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais, os Parâmetros Curriculares de Língua Estrangeira, os Parâmetros Curriculares do Ensino Médio, as Orientações Curriculares do Ensino Médio, a LEI Nº13415, 2017 e as Diretrizes Curriculares do Estado do Paraná. Além desses documentos foram analisados os programas federais voltados ao ensino de língua inglesa, como Programa Nacional do Livro Didático (PNLD) e o Idiomas sem Fronteiras (IsF). Também se pesquisou a influência e a importância da língua inglesa nos processos de internacionalização das universidades brasileiras.
