Throughout history, a change in the perception of man in his relation to nature has been observed, for first there was a conception that nature was a primordial element, after man had dominated it, and the change of this conception started between the decades of 60 and 70, due to the advance of the environmental movements, as well as the insertion of Environmental Education in a more present form in the debates from the 90s in the educational spaces. Given this context, it was possible to note over time several negative effects due to this misconception, however, in the present research will be given greater emphasis on vegetables, considering that among the other elements and living beings, it may be the more ignored by human beings, a fact greatly influenced by what has been termed "botanical blindness", as well as changes in cultural and social habits, such as increasing urbanization, rural exodus, estrangement of people from nature, others. Linked to such factors, we can add the lagging and discouraging teaching of botany issues, as well as the lack of stimulation of the construction of knowledge in the bias of Environmental Education. It is believed that the perception of the importance of the human being feels part of the environment, respecting the limits of other living beings is a perception that is shaped by the culture attributed to the family and to society, but also of education, thus teaching has a significant share in this context. However, the vegetables are approached in a technicist, abstract way, in the massive majority of the times disconnected with the daily of the students. In addition, there is another concern in this regard, if the teaching of Botany and Environmental Education is already deficient for students with "perfect" development and cognition, imagine how these problems affect students with special needs. In view of all this context, we intend to use the sensory mandala, built at the premises of the Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná - Campus Dois Vizinhos, as a pedagogical resource to promote the construction of knowledge about environmental education themes, as well as help the teaching of botany, making it more attractive to its visitors. In addition to seeking to promote, the inclusion of students attending the multifunctional resource room of a College of Dois VizinhosPR, in this approach, since the mandala allows the stimulation of the five human senses contributing to the knowledge is constructed mitigating the limitations of your visitors. As a result, it was concluded that the sensory mandala as a pedagogical resource contributed to the participants' construction of knowledge, increased their environmental perception, and effectively included them in the teaching-learning process. |
