Resumo: School medicinal garden is an educational tool of vegetable cultivation for the study of plants, which may be used for the study of Botany in the middle and elementary school. The objective of this work is to propose learning situations that articulate theoretical and practical knowledge focused on the study of Botany of medicinal plants, as well as building a medicinal garden in order to use it for teaching Botany. This project was developed in a state school in the city of Dois Vizinhos - PR and included the participation of 14 students from 6 years of elementary school. The project was developed in five learning modules during two months with weekly meetings lasting two hours each. The data collection instruments used were pre- and post-questionnaires also photos, audio and observations, the research methodology used was qualitative, type action research, in which the researcher participates in the research. The project helped the students to understand better about Botany, mainly the difference between animal and plant cell, chloroplast and stomata with observation under a microscope. The medicinal garden proved to be a good teaching tool, which aroused the interest and curiosity of students in learning about medicinal plants and Botany.
