Resumo: Milk production has a key role for Brazilian properties, the activity allows year-round income, enabling technological advances and improving the lives of families living in the countryside. In this sense, the objective of this work was to verify the effect of the season and the technological level on the quality of raw milk refrigerated in rural properties in the southwest of Paraná. The data collection was done with the help of a semi structured questionnaire, with the participation of 40 properties from the following municipalities: São João (10), Chopinzinho (5), Mangueirinha (6), Sulina (10), Coronel Vivida (4) and São Jorge D'Oeste (5). It was analyzed the composition of the milk, as well as: fat, protein, lactose, total dry extract, somatic cell count (CCS) and standard plate count (CPP), finally checking the influence of the seasons on the chemical quality of the milk. Milk produced in the region. The production system (mixed or confined) had a completely randomized design distributed in a factorial scheme, with the number of repetition variable according to the level. The quantity produced (liters of milk / month) was submitted to analysis of variance by the Mixed procedure of the statistical package SAS, and when significant the means were compared by the Tukey test, also analyzed the interaction between quantity produced X season of the year. In the analysis of the technological level only the standard plate count was significant, being higher in the mixed system. In the production systems only the standard plate count was significant, being higher in the mixed system. In the quantity produced also the standard plate count was significant, being higher in monthly production less than 3,000 liters of milk per month.
