Resumo: This course conclusion paper pursues firstly a reflection on the author’s biography and a brief analysis of the stylistic elements of the short story, then the analysis through the application of postulates from translation descriptive studies (TOURY, 2012) and polysystems (EVEN-ZOHAR, 1990), along with the analyses of the discursive field, the production of two translations of Ernest Hemingway’s short story “Up in Michigan”, attempting to verify the approximation and estrangement as related to the source text, its translation perspective and which implications those decisions reflect in the accomplishment of both translations project.
