Resumo: Chemistry is an experimental science, is therefore very difficult to learn it without carrying out practical activities. The teaching of chemistry, which focuses on scientific concepts, not including, real life situations linking the content studied the daily lives of students can make the subject uninteresting to them. Therefore, the experimental activity in the teaching of chemistry, is confirmed as an important educational tool, suitable to arouse the interest of students to the issues posed by the teacher and expand the capacity for learning, like the experimental activity is an essential part for teaching chemistry. Knowing the importance of these activities were carried out research with chemistry teachers from high school in the city of Dois Vizinhos, to make a reality of the study of chemistry classes in state schools in this city, and raise the main problems encountered by teachers in making practical classes, and the frequency with which they are made. From this study, one can observe that the state colleges of the city teachers do not all experimental classes frequently and that the lack of lab is not a difficulty. It was observed that the main reason that the difficulty in conducting practical classes is the lack of time during the school year.
