Therefore, the experimental activity in the teaching of chemistry, is confirmed as an important educational tool, suitable to arouse the interest of students to the issues posed by the teacher and expand the capacity for learning, like the experimental activity is an essential part for teaching chemistry. Knowing the importance of these activities were carried out research with chemistry teachers from high school in the city of Dois Vizinhos, to make a reality of the study of chemistry classes in state schools in this city, and raise the main problems encountered by teachers in making practical classes, and the frequency with which they are made. From this study, one can observe that the state colleges of the city teachers do not all experimental classes frequently and that the lack of lab is not a difficulty. It was observed that the main reason that the difficulty in conducting practical classes is the lack of time during the school year. A química é uma ciência experimental, fica por isso muito difícil aprende-la sem a realização de atividades práticas. O ensino da química, centrado nos conceitos científicos, sem incluir, situações reais, que associam o conteúdo estudado ao cotidiano dos alunos pode tornar a disciplina desinteressante para os mesmos. Nesse sentido, a atividade experimental no ensino da química, é confirmada como uma importante ferramenta pedagógica, apropriada para despertar o interesse dos alunos para os temas propostos pelos professores e ampliar a capacidade para o aprendizado, ou seja, a atividade experimental é uma parte essencial para o ensino de química. Conhecendo a importância dessas atividades, foram realizadas pesquisas com professores de química do ensino médio na cidade de Dois Vizinhos, para se fazer um estudo da realidade das aulas de química nas escolas estaduais desse município, e levantar os principais problemas encontrados pelos docentes na realização de aulas práticas, bem como a frequência com que são realizadas. A partir desse estudo, pode-se observar que nos colégios estaduais do município nem todos os professores realizam aulas experimentais com frequência e que a falta de laboratório não é um problema encontrado.
