Resumo: This project presents the development of a didactic plant for the study and demonstration of the DC motor speed PID control. The first part of this work presents a review of the theoretical concepts needed to implement this project. Control systems, PID controller, discretization methods and DC motors are discussed. Following are the details of the project development divided into its main parts: hardware, firmware and software. In the last part are registered the validation experiments of the project as well as its commented results. In this step tests were performed in open loop and closed loop topologies. The open loop tests were performed in order to identify the dynamic model of the plant. The closed loop tests were performed with the objective of proving the effectiveness and the behavior of the implemented controller using some configurations as reference.
