Resumo: Learning the English language has become paramount requirement for an integral education of the person. The English language is present in virtually all spheres of society, especially during insertion into the world of work. However, teaching English requires great professional effort. It is for the teacher to provide methodologies that stimulate students interest in a pleasurable and meaningful way. Inserting literature as a methodology in the teaching of English facilitates and enhances this task as wellmake the most enjoyable classes. This article aims to demonstrate that it is possible to teach English language in an easier and differentiated way, enabling appreciation to literary texts and the love of reading. The theoretical basis for this project was a literature review of books, articles, dissertations and other publications related to the chosen theme.
