It is for the teacher to provide methodologies that stimulate students interest in a pleasurable and meaningful way. Inserting literature as a methodology in the teaching of English facilitates and enhances this task as wellmake the most enjoyable classes. This article aims to demonstrate that it is possible to teach English language in an easier and differentiated way, enabling appreciation to literary texts and the love of reading. The theoretical basis for this project was a literature review of books, articles, dissertations and other publications related to the chosen theme. Aprender a Língua Inglesa tornou-se requisito primordial para uma formação integral do sujeito. A língua inglesa está presente praticamente em todas as esferas da sociedade, principalmente na inserção ao mundo do trabalho. No entanto, ensinar uma língua estrangeira requer grande dedicação profissional. Cabe ao educador proporcionar metodologias que despertem o interesse do aluno de maneira prazerosa e significativa. Inserir a literatura como metodologia no ensino da língua inglesa é facilitar e aprimorar esta tarefa, tornando as aulas mais agradáveis. Este artigo tem o objetivo de demonstrar que é possível ensinar língua inglesa de maneira mais fácil e diferenciada, possibilitando o apreço aos textos literários e o gosto pela leitura.
