Resumo: This paper had as subject, the cordel’s literature, its history background, characterists, its use as education methodology in school subject of Portuguese and Literature. The Cordel’s literature is a popular literature, with verses and rhymes, realistc short-stories, novels, written and told in popular language, which over many years, was the information most used in brazilian colonial period. This literature in Brazil is mostly used in northeast region, where the main authors come up. This research aims to investigate how cordel’s literature is worked between teachers of three schools, in Umuarama city, brazilian south region, where this literature it is not commented and used as northeast states. About the methodological procedures, were studies about the theoretical references and application of questionnaire to teachers of elementary school from two public schools and a private one, in Umuarama city – PR.
