Resumo: This work was thematic teaching Zoology taking as reference the Theory of Meaningful Learning proposed by David Ausubel and application of the methodology by Analogy - MECA. The contents of Zoology in the school context are restricted to lectures, often just memorization of phylogenetic classifications of animals. As shown in the questionnaires applied to students taking the course in Basic Science Zoology Augusto Ruschi Club, in Araucaria, only two students claim to have science lab at school, and these are from private educational institutions. Students enrolled in public establishments say they have the science lab at school, which makes it difficult in this sense the theory and practice regarding the content. Specifically in the case of Zoology there is a scarcity of publications dealing with this subject, which ultimately unfeasible broader discussions on the methodologies and contents to be developed in the classroom.
