Mathematics is considered an important discipline of the school curriculum because this has a number of languages used in daily life, and often involves reading for the interpretation of the numerical formulations that contributes to the development of logical reasoning. This largely represented by the mathematical understanding of the text and logical thinking are dependent on each other and interact to form these features that enable from a logical problem, solve it step by step, using reading techniques for learning. Therefore, this reasoning of the development of mathematics, as well as being used to solve issues and problems in other areas of knowledge and daily life, it is also critical to the mental development of the individual. Thus, this study aims to analyze the real necessity of reading and interpretation of the utterance situations to resolve problems. As methodologies used in this research was initially classified as literature, which highlighted the main points to be worked on and reading method understanding of math text. Then a field research with method of field research with the questionnaire given to students in the 7th Year of State College Quintino Bocaiúva Ubiratã of Parana, was taken, trying to analyze their needs in relation to learning math as well as their difficulties in interpreting reading. The results obtained in this research is turning to the teaching practices and encouraging reading in the classroom, serving as a reference for mathematical calculations and interpret and distinguish the figures shown through writing and reflection with reading. Este trabalho teve como temática a leitura e interpretação da matemática. A matemática é considerada uma disciplina importante do conteúdo escolar pelo fato de apresentar uma série de linguagens utilizadas no cotidiano, e muitas vezes envolve a leitura para a interpretação das formulações numéricas que contribui com o desenvolvimento do raciocínio lógico. Essa grande parte da matemática representada por compreensão do texto e reflexões lógicas são dependentes umas das outras e essas interagem formando características que capacitam a partir de um problema lógico, resolvê-lo passo a passo, usando técnicas de leitura para a aprendizagem. Portanto, esse raciocínio do desenvolvimento da matemática, além de ser também utilizado para resolver questões e problemas de outras áreas do conhecimento e da vida diária, é também fundamental para o desenvolvimento mental do indivíduo. Deste modo, esse trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a real necessidade da leitura e interpretação do enunciado das situações problemas para a sua resolução. As metodologias utilizadas nesta pesquisa se enquadram inicialmente como bibliográfica, que destacou os pontos principais a ser trabalhado no método da leitura e compreensão do texto de matemática. Em seguida foi feita uma pesquisa de campo com método de pesquisa de campo com questionário aplicado aos alunos do 7º Ano A do Colégio Estadual Quintino Bocaiúva de Ubiratã-Paraná, buscando analisar suas necessidades em relação ao aprendizado de matemática, bem como suas dificuldades de interpretação da leitura.
