Resumo: Nowadays recreational activities can be used as an instrument important tool for the construction of new knowledge, providing the cognitive, affective and social development, and the learner able to establish complex relationships between elements of reality that presents itself enabling autonomy and socialization. In this context the recreational activities in the classroom aim to seek to facilitate the acquisition of new knowledge that is of great importance for the learning and development of students. This work was developed through the application of recreational activities in the classroom as a teaching strategy. The results showed that such activities awaken creativity; integration and socialization, changing the image of monotonous act of learning by having students start to show interest, because they can understand the content covered through play activities. Thus, it was possible to understand that the recreational activities in the classroom help the student in the teaching and learning process.
