This work had as thematic to verify how the science teachers who teach in public schools, located in the municipality of Paraguaçu Paulista - SP - have been working abstract scientific concepts in classrooms where deaf students attending . The subjects consisted of two Pounds's interpreters and three teachers who teach the discipline of science to deaf students. To investigate the teaching and learning of sciences of deaf student’s, two semi-structured questionnaires, one for teachers and one for the interpreters were prepared. In relation to science teaching for the deaf, the data from this study showed that teachers and interpreters of pounds have found many obstacles in teaching and learning of scientific concepts, such as lack of training, lack of educational support’s material, lack of sign language’s knowledge by teachers. Already compared to a bilingual education, this study demonstrated that many changes still need to happen in schools, so that effectively the teaching and learning of these students can fit in this philosophy. |
