Environmental education is an urgent and current theme in all spheres of society, especially in formal education. In the classroom, the theme has been structured to be worked by all teachers in an interdisciplinary way, aiming at transforming the schoolchildren aware and sensitized to the use of natural resources and the environment. Therefore, the purpose of the research was to investigate the teachers view on the approach to environmental education in the elementary school classroom in the city of Araras-SP. The methodology used in this research was field research through the use of a pre-established questionnaire to analyze the teacher's conception about the relevance of environmental education. Through the interview conducted to the 54 teachers of the various disciplines, it was verified that the majority of the teachers work with the subject environmental education in the disciplines in which they teach. However, the minority that does not work has seen a fragility with the theme. For teachers, the subjects of science and geography are the most appropriate to work in classroom education. |
