This work had as its theme the relevance of scientific literacy in elementary school I in the perception of teachers in the city of Barueri. In a society in which we live with
the overvaluation of scientific knowledge and with the increasing intervention of technology in everyday life, it is not possible to think about the formation of a critical citizen on the fringes of scientific knowledge. The teaching of Natural Sciences should be presented with a new approach; instead of being seen as a body of established knowledge must be treated as a human activity, gradually increasing the experimental character of scientific processes and procedures, which are wide and varied. Certainly, it is not possible to restrict science classes only to handouts, textbooks, chalk and blackboard. It is necessary to expand the learning supports allowing students to carry out experiments that solidify this knowledge. we know that we do not always have laboratories and equipment for conducting research and testing; however, the teaching of science in elementary school I, the focus of this research, with few resources and materials of easy access, used daily, is possible the dynamization and expansion of strategies that will certainly favor the learning of our students. Teachers, through their intellect, have the appropriate tools to optimize the school space and thus favor scientific literacy. |
