Resumo: In view of the concern with developing geometric skills in teacher training courses, it was questioned how the use of augmented reality (AR) could be used as a learning resource to develop spatial perception and geometric concepts for students in a class of Pedagogy course. Thus, this text is guided by the use of GeometriAR application as a resource for learning Geometry in the discipline of Mathematics. In order to analyze the contribution of this resource to academic students in the final of college in the private university in Curitiba, we sought to characterize the conceptual difficulties presented in the transformation of tri figures into two-dimensional ones, to investigate the use of AR in the classroom as a way of contributing for the teaching and learning process in Mathematics in the contents that involve geometric thinking. The research carried out was qualitative in a case study perspective. Through a short course, the research presented relevant results that characterize the need for the inclusion of AR technology in classes as a way to assist cognitive appropriations of mathematics, specifically, in geometric contents and, support the training of future teachers, potentializing them for new ones teaching strategies.
