Valuing this legacy is part of the peoples' identity and can be used as a teaching strategy. Exploring how legends of a region becomes the tool for Science Education from an interdisciplinary and dialogical aspect, establishing a bridge between scientific knowledge and traditional knowledge, allowing to exalt the culture of local communities. Considering these premises, this work aimed to evaluate the potential of using legends as a problematic tool in science teaching, focusing on Nature Conservation. Specifically, we sought to discuss geological and biological aspects of the Guartelá State Park (relating scientific concepts to local legends) and to value the historic heritage of Campos Gerais. The field out put was used as a didactic pedagogical strategy to insert the student in the context addressed, in order to promote the cognitive correlations of the visited space with the content, facilitating learning. The research had an applied and exploratory, with dialogical and participatory methods. The results allowed to identify the relevance of the field trip in the teaching-learning process, considering that the different methodology aroused the students' interest and attention on specific topics. Curiosity, imagination and critical sense were stimulated in the natural environment visited. These findings reinforce the importance of investing more and more in interdisciplinary practices in science education, leading students to signify and internalize knowledge that is part of their culture and identity. As lendas permanecem vivas de geração em geração, como tradições que são passadas dos mais velhos para os mais novos, com intuito de criar e reforçar laços e ao mesmo tempo transmitir conhecimentos. A valorização deste legado faz parte da identidade dos povos e pode ser utilizada como estratégia de ensino. Explorar as lendas de uma região se torna ferramenta para o ensino de ciências sob o aspecto interdisciplinar e dialógico, estabelecendo a ponte entre conhecimentos científicos e conhecimentos tradicionais, permitindo exaltar a cultura das comunidades locais. Considerando estas premissas, este trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar as potencialidades do uso de lendas como ferramenta problematizadora no ensino de ciências, focando na conservação da natureza. Especificamente, buscou-se discutir aspectos geológicos e biológicos do Parque Estadual do Guartelá (relacionando os conceitos científicos com as lendas locais) e valorizar o patrimônio histórico dos Campos Gerais. A saída de campo foi utilizada como estratégia didático pedagógica para inserir o aluno no contexto abordado, a fim de promover as correlações cognitivas do espaço visitado com o conteúdo, facilitando a aprendizagem. A pesquisa teve caráter aplicado e exploratório, com métodos dialógicos e participativos (roda de conversa e questionários). Os resultados permitiram identificar a relevância da saída de campo no processo de ensino-aprendizagem, considerando que a metodologia diferenciada despertou interesse e atenção dos alunos acerca dos temas abordados. Houve estímulo da curiosidade, imaginação e senso crítico perante o ambiente natural visitado.
