Resumo: Beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) have three primary centers of origin in the world, the first being in Mesoamerica, whose main locations are Mexico and Guatemala and the southern Andes, covering mainly Peru. Brazil is the third largest bean producer in the world, behind India and Myanmar. The state of Paraná is the largest bean producer in Brazil, with a 22% share of national production. Beans are a very important product on the table of Brazilians because they can be a great substitute for meat, have the cheapest price and are still a great protein source. The objective of the present work was to analyze the bean production chain of Pato Branco municipality, aiming to obtain production information, seed certification, and size of the properties in order to generate information that allows to list solutions to possible problems that occur in the production chain. The work was carried out with 50 bean producers from Pato Branco. An online questionnaire was designed using the google forms tool and applied via social media. The questionnaire covers general questions with demographic information such as gender, age and education, as well as information about the property and seeds that the producer uses. It is important to highlight the production information, ie, which crop is the farmer's preference for planting, the machinery used, the productivity, the management system and the prices obtained from the sale of production. Most of the properties of the municipality of Pato Branco are small and have a high technological level, but this technology has not been turning into productivity for the crop. Bean market instability has been another problem for growers, prices vary widely and the lack of adequate storage locations on the farms means that growers have to sell production as quickly as possible so that beans do not lose quality. Therefore, prices are often not the most favorable at the time of sale.
