The subject of mechanics of structural materials is responsible for high reproval rates in the civil engineering course because of its calculus requires an advanced background theory. Currently, with the astonishing evolution and popularity of mobile devices, the problem can be softened with the improvement of the learning process in the academical environment through mobile apps, so that with the simplification of calculation methods, the students can concentrate more in analysis and understanding of the mechanics of structural materials subject. The normal stresses, shear stresses and bending moments are a big portion in a beam sizing, being one of the most difficult contents of the strength of materials subject. Considering this situation, this study had the objective of creating an application capable of calculating and plotting shear forces, bending moments, normal stresses and shear stresses in a simple and in an intuitive way. |
