Resumo: This work aimed to build a didactic sequence about the content of matrices for High School using the Problem Solving methodology, to collaborate in the teaching learning of Mathematics, as well as to provide guidance to teachers. For this, a historical survey, a bibliographical review on matrices and a presentation of the concepts of matrices and their operations were made, discussed in the didactic sequence. This is qualitative research. For the construction of the sequence, the following procedures were performed: the exploration of the concept of matrix and its operations from the analysis of three textbooks and, later, the selection of 5 problems involving the concept of matrix and the operations of addition, subtraction and matrix multiplication. From them, possible resolutions were presented and referrals were made to the teachers.
