Resumo: This work had water as thematic and was transformed in to practices to be used in science teaching, seeking to review concepts and applications in the day to day, in order to postpone it's scarcity, making use of common materials, easily found, leading the student to reflect and be come aware of the importance of collaborating with the economy and use of this fundamental good for life on the planet. Thus, the present work aimed to recognize the importance of water in the life of living beings, as well as to identify and value it as a finite natural resource, to promote its conscious and rational use. Practices that portrayed the use of water in a conscious way were performed. One was an example of its use with recyclable materials, and another the analysis of the data contained in the waterbill, for the purpose of extracting actual data involving the present average consumption and how to save on future charges. Three short videos were also used to clarify the problems we may face due to the lack of water, allowing a better use in the classroom, and in this way raise awareness of the 21st century water crisis, especially in the city of São Paulo, and that will affect the citizens more and more, generating reflection and questions about the theme. By planning classes with the use of differentiated resources it was possible to obtain greater interest and participation of the students.
