Resumo: The present work addresses the positive impacts caused to the school community from living with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), specifically with their peers. It is intended to demonstrate that inclusion does not bring benefits only to those included, but also to society as a whole. Thus, the objective is to demonstrate that inclusion is something that must be increasingly present in schools and other environments, in order to avoid oppression, constraints and exclusion of these individuals. Besides to teaching and promoting from an early age in schools the values to live in society in a fair, respectful and harmonious way. Methodologically, an interview was carried out with teachers and pedagogical staff from five public schools of Basic Education, from the Elementary School, belonging to the Municipal School System of Dois Vizinhos, which have students with special educational needs included, in order to obtain answers and data that demonstrate the effects of such coexistence/interaction in the human formation of the school community, in other words, the effects of the coexistence of students with ASD for typical students.
