Resumo: The environmental crises predicted for centuries are plaguing the contemporary age. The loss of biodiversity, water scarcity, pollution and forest fragmentation are part of the current scenario. Environmental education (EA) is a fact favorable to a change in thinking about the environment. Being aware of these facts, this work aimed to apply workshops on sustainability in classes of elementary school in order to verify the approaches and the necessary adaptations for each age in order to developthe criticality regarding the environment to which all are active members. One of the objectives is to demystify the concept of sustainability showing that it is essential nowadays, in addition to being achieved with simple attitudes, with the reuse of recyclable materials, correct disposal of waste and adoption of more positive habits. The workshops were held with two classes of elementary school, namely: 7thgrade and 8thgrad at a public school in São Miguel do Iguaçu (PR). A questionnaire was applied at the beginning and end of the workshop, just after the first questionnaires, a presentation was made explaining what sustainability was, and then games were made with recyclable materials, so that students understood that they can recuse the materials. Inthe end, the last questionnaire was applied to find out if the students had understood had sustainability was, so it can be said that the results were expressive, since the learning gained from the workshops was remarkable.
