Resumo: The number of studies with autism spectrum disorder and increasing, despite this, is a condition little known among school professionals and society in general. And with the implementation of inclusive processes, many challenges are found, above all, the insufficiency of an educational service appropriate to their needs for quality learning. In this sense, this work had as main theme to understand the learning challenges for children with autism. The research is of a bibliographic nature, based on literatures present in books, magazines and scientific articles, which allow a discussion with the authors who foster on the theme. The theoretical basis of this study is based on some researchers who bring contributions aimed at the research objectives.In view of the discussions, it is possible to reflect that professional training is necessary to enable education professionals to develop practices that use playful and differentiated pedagogical resources adapted to the individual needs of the autistic student. In this way it is possible to develop the student's skills and learning ability.
