It is also a relevant discussion for teachers in training, mainly within the area of bachelor's degree Portuguese english, since these need to be constantly evolving in their work to better meet the needs of your students. Therefore, the overall objective of this course completion work, defended from the degree of Portuguese-English is to analyze how the acquisition-learning processes of the Mother tongue and the Foreign Language occur and develop, from a bibliographic survey of studies in the area. The specific objectives are to discuss the relationship between languages and identity formation, conceptualize terminologies relating to languages, understand the theories that underpin the two processes, visualize how the processes can be applied according to methodological perspectives and to analyze in a systematized way the general concepts and considerations already published by the scholars of the subject. It is proposed, thus, to introduce reflections and concepts related to important issues for the understanding of the subject, and present a bibliographic survey of articles already published in the last five years (2017-2021), from the CAPES journal portal. As a result, it is observed that the 9 articles identified indicate that the South and Southeast regions are more voluminous in the number of surveys, that the non-maternal language addressed is often English, that research areas range from pedagogy, psychology, psychoanalysis and applied linguistics or linguistics, mostly being qualitative methodologies. The research converges on common issues, addressing the most discussed topics when dealing with this subject, which are the contextual questions of the student and the importance of understanding the contextual elements before starting any process. Seeking from the bibliographic survey, collaborate in the development of the theme, creating a systematized manner and following a pattern of analysis a material that maps and synthesizes the knowledge exposed to date, relevant to the research area and application of the central subject of the work. Discussões acerca dos conceitos de aquisição, aprendizagem e ensino de língua inglesa são de grande importância em visão da constante necessidade de comunicação no mundo globalizado. É também uma discussão relevante para professores em formação, principalmente dentro da área de licenciatura em Português e Inglês, visto que esses precisam estar em constante evolução em seu trabalho para melhor atender as necessidades de seus alunos. Assim sendo, o objetivo geral deste trabalho de conclusão de curso, defendido da licenciatura de Letras Português-Inglês é analisar como ocorrem e se desenvolvem os processos de aquisição-aprendizagem da Língua Materna e da Língua Estrangeira, a partir de revisão bibliográfica de estudos da área. Já os objetivos específicos são discutir a relação entre línguas e formação identitária, conceituar terminologias relativas às línguas, entender as teorias que embasam os dois processos, visualizar como os processos podem ser aplicados de acordo com as perspectivas metodológicas e analisar de forma sistematizada os conceitos e considerações gerais já publicadas pelos estudiosos do tema. Propõe-se, assim, introduzir reflexões e conceitos referente a questões importantes para a compreensão do assunto, e apresentar um levantamento bibliográfico de artigos já publicados nos últimos cinco anos (2017-2021), a partir do portal de periódicos CAPES. Como resultado, observa-se que os 9 artigos identificados apontam que as regiões do Sul e Sudeste são mais volumosas no número de pesquisas, que o idioma não materno abordado é frequentemente o Inglês, que as áreas de pesquisa variam entre pedagogia, psicologia, psicanálise e linguística ou linguística aplicada, em sua maioria seguido metodologias qualitativas. As pesquisas convergem em assuntos em comum, abordando os temas mais discutidos quando tratando desse assunto, que são as questões contextuais do aluno e da importância de se compreender os elementos contextuais antes de iniciar qualquer processo.
