In the study of optimization problems with equality constraints, the Lagrange multipliers method allows the maximum or minimum of a function, to be determined while respecting equality constraints. For this, we present the concepts of analysis, such as metrics, norms, open sets, closed and compact sets, continuous functions, limits and derivatives, as well as the main results about these concepts and their interactions, until you reach the Lagrange multiplier method. Finally, applications of the Lagrange multipliers are presented in the optimization of functions. |
