Resumo: This course conclusion paper seeks to apply a different didactic resource in the traditional way of teaching, the photo story. It was decided to work a cross-cutting theme in the chemical area, specifically relating to environmental pollutants. Previously a survey was conducted to observe the frequency with which this issue was applied in entrance examinations to higher education, as the ENEM (Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio) between 2011 and 2016. An evaluation based was drawn up in this quest to verify the previous knowledge of the students, which we call the investigative assessment and also the content to be passed on to students. To check the effectiveness of the photo story were compared two classes (Class A and Class B) of the morning period, belonging to the second year of high school from the State College Padre Silvestre Kandora in which the Class A was applied the photo story and in Class B the teaching took place in the traditional way. This comparison was made through an identical assessment investigative, called evaluative, and was applied after the different forms of transfer of content. In both cases there was progress, each group with its own peculiarities, demonstrating that it is possible to learn in a pleasant way and with greater interaction between students and teacher.
