Resumo: This work aims to analyze the lyrics of the songs "Sucrilhos" and "Duas de Cinco", by the rapper Criolo, from São Paulo, verifying the poetic and aesthetic resources contained in the songs, as well as ideological and historical positions, engaged discourse and black empowerment and peripheral that permeate the constructions of meaning of these musical productions. For this proposal of analysis were adopted some theorizations that approach music and poetry, made by Glauco Mattoso (1981), Italo Moriconi (2002) and Enzo Minarelli (2010). In questions that surround the historicity of the Hip Hop cultural movement, relations and conflicts with the cultural industry and the musical making of rap, considerations of José Gomes da Silva (1998, 1999), Ricardo Teperman (2015) Roberto Camargos (2015) were used. Besides the support of video documents about the life and work of rapper Criolo. This study exalts the complexity of the rap songs, which are still stigmatized, showing the aesthetic values that permeate the productions allied to the history in which the musical making of the genre was developed.
