For this proposal of analysis were adopted some theorizations that approach music and poetry, made by Glauco Mattoso (1981), Italo Moriconi (2002) and Enzo Minarelli (2010). In questions that surround the historicity of the Hip Hop cultural movement, relations and conflicts with the cultural industry and the musical making of rap, considerations of José Gomes da Silva (1998, 1999), Ricardo Teperman (2015) Roberto Camargos (2015) were used. Besides the support of video documents about the life and work of rapper Criolo. This study exalts the complexity of the rap songs, which are still stigmatized, showing the aesthetic values that permeate the productions allied to the history in which the musical making of the genre was developed. Este trabalho propõe-se a analisar as letras das canções “Sucrilhos” e “Duas de Cinco”, do rapper paulistano Criolo, verificando os recursos poéticos e estéticos presentes nas canções, além dos posicionamentos ideológicos e históricos, o discurso engajado e o empoderamento negro e periférico que permeiam as construções de sentido dessas produções musicais. Para tal proposta de análise são empregadas algumas teorizações que aproximam música e poesia, efetuadas por Glauco Mattoso (1981), Italo Moriconi (2002), Enzo Minarelli (2010). Em questões acerca da historicidade do movimento cultural do Hip Hop, relações e conflitos com a indústria cultural e o fazer musical do rap, são utilizadas, principalmente, as considerações de José Gomes da Silva (1998; 1999), Ricardo Teperman (2015), Roberto Camargos (2015), além do apoio de documentos em vídeo sobre a vida e obra do rapper Criolo.
