Resumo: This work aimed to show the importance of working in classrooms with Environmental Education and the interaction of students with it. For that reason a class of a Municipal School of the municipality of Mairinque, state of São Paulo was chosen. The methodology adopted is based on literature research on the subject, mainly to know the community around the school and how it interacts with the environment, through a questionnaire. Observations were made in the classroom about the theme, in which the students themselves raised the problems detected in the community and at school, related to the degradation of the environment and proposed actions, such as the exposure of photos that they themselves brought from degraded areas, mainly by the action of man, so that the community can reflect on these situations and try to somehow soften them.
