Digital Technologies (TD) have been used by teachers from different disciplines as an aid to teaching and learning processes. In this direction, we sought to investigate in this research the possible contributions of the Google For Education platform to the teaching and learning processes of Science content “Filo Arthropoda” aimed at the 7th year of Elementary Education. To this end, a qualitative research was carried out in a private school in the city of Curitiba. At the time of the research, the school had signed a partnership with Google, which provided Chromebooks to students, with the availability of tools: Google Classroom, Google Drive, Gmail and Google Presentations. A case study was developed with 139 students who carried out the preparation of a presentation, in teams, using the respective platform. It was noticed that the activity aroused the students’ interest, improved the relationship between teacher and students, increased interactivity and strengthened the relationships of collaborations between the students themselves. In these moments of interactivity with the platform, students were the protagonists of the learning process, while the teacher was a mediator, assisting in specific doubts, asking questions that would lead each team to reflection and clarifying whether the sources the students sought were reliable or not. . Regarding the content covered, the students brought curiosities and exposed the importance of the Phylum Arthropoda. The speeches of the students after the elaboration of the presentation, as well as the materials produced by them in Google Presentation, demonstrated a paradigm break in relation to the studied Phylum, since the students started to report the data about these living beings with scientific support. |
