Resumo: This research detailed delimiting the STEM methodology (science, technology, enginnering and mathematics) in order to characterize the steps for its inclusion in the school environment, besides emphasizing its social importance and demystifying important steps for its implementation. In order to modulate the learning aspects in this methodology it became necessary to establish which learning theories best fit this perspective, thus, the research first addressed contextualization of the educational environment by raising contributions of Vygotsky's and Piaget´s theories with the sociocultural theory and ending with Reuven Feurstein's contributions around cognitive plasticity through mediation. After these approaches from readings about STEM in the consortium called Allience STEM, it was measured all relevant aspects of implementation in addition to a model to put it into practice, emphasizing processes for its application. The whole project allowed us to conclude that such a methodology is possible to be carried out in different realities only by following epistemological steps.
