Resumo: The poly (L- lactic acid) is a biodegradable polyester with hydrophobic characteristics and unstable in humid conditions. It is produced from renewable resources and have received great attention in the research of alternative biodegradable polymers because it was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use as drug delivery systems. The final average size and size distribution of the nanoparticles are of great importance in applications such as encapsulation of compounds, both for protection purposes as modified release. The dependence of nanoparticle size with experimental parameters has been the subject of studies, however, although known to influence the viscosity of the organic phase in the final diameter of the nanoparticles, there is no in-depth studies of this issue. The viscosity of the organic phases forming the nanoparticles was evaluated in this work through experimental design and results were compared to the literature showing that it is possible to correlate the significant effects for all three answers (viscosity, average diameter (Dz) and dispersion index of poly (IPD)). The main factors affecting the viscosity and Dz are also affect concentration of PLLA and lecithin. For viscosity and PDI factor more representatives in common was the concentration of dichloromethane.
