This work aims to develop a ball-and-beam control system that can be used in practical process control activities. The system consists of an electromechanical device able to control the position of a small ball on a bar using PID control. The center of the bar is fixed to the servomotor shaft, which allows to change the inclination of the bar, causing the ball to roll freely on it. The control function is to keep the ball balanced at any point on the bar within a defined range. The device also has an ultrasonic sensor that is responsible for reads the ball position and sends this information to the microcontroller. |
